1-D-4-O-Methyl-myo-inositol

D-Ononitol is found in a number of plant species where it is a precursor to D-pinitol. It is also converted to O-α-D-galactopyranosyl-(1→3)-4-O-methyl-1-D-myo-inositol, (galactosyl ononitol) which may act as a galactosyl donor.^1,2
