4-Methylphenyl-1-thio-α-D-mannopyranoside

Synonyms:
p-Methylphenyl-1-thio-α-D-mannopyranoside
(2R,3S,4S,5S,6R)-2-(hydroxymethyl)-6-(p-tolylthio)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-3,4,5-triol

Thioglycosides are useful alternatives to glycosyl halides or trichloroacetimidates as glycosyl donors due to the robust nature of the anomeric thio moiety, which allows protecting group manipulation prior to glycosylation.

4-Methylphenyl-1-thio-α-D-mannopyranoside can be converted in to various mannose donors.1-3
