Allosamidin is an inhibitor of both insect and bacterial chitinases.
Our synthesis of Allosamidin1,2 is one of several to have appeared in the literature3. Recently Allosamidin has been reported to be an inhibitor of acidic mammalian chitinase4 an observation which may have implications in the treatment of asthma.
